Camping De Oorsprong
Camping De Oorsprong is a charming farm campsite on Schiermonnikoog, situated in the wide-open polder on the eastern side of the island. The pitches are freely selectable and spread out across a grassy field near the sanitary facilities. You can pitch your tent overlooking the polder or closer to the farmhouse. It is also possible to rent a furnished tent suitable for up to 4 people. On site, there is a modern sanitary building with hot showers and toilets. There’s also a shared kitchen with a stove, fridge, kettle, and dishes—convenient if you’d like to cook for yourself. Children can play on the recreation field or jump on the trampoline. For snacks and essentials, you can visit the farm shop or order fresh bread in high season. In the evening, gather around the communal fire pit to chat with fellow campers.

Bird lovers will enjoy the Westerplas area, home to spoonbills, godwits, and other migratory birds. The village of Schiermonnikoog is within cycling distance and offers museums like the Shell Museum or the Bunker Museum, cosy terraces, and local shops. You can also book excursions like mudflat walking or a guided tour through the dunes.
