Camping du Pont de Bourgogne is a 3-star campsite with 100 pitches by the river Saône. The campsite is conveniently located in several ways. It is within walking distance from the center of Chalon-sur-Saône and is easily accessible from the A6 freeway, making it ideal for a stopover on the Route du Soleil. Of the 100 sites, there are 84 camping pitches and 16 rental accommodations, including mobile homes and rental tents. Useful when you’re passing through and don’t want to pitch your own tent completely for one night.

Facilities at the campsite

The campground is mainly aimed at passers-by. Therefore, there is no entertainment and, if you are passing through, you don’t even have to unhook your caravan. If you are hungry after a long day in the car, you can order simple meals from the snack bar. They serve pizzas, sausages and Burgundy beef, among other things. You can choose to take it away or eat it on one of the snack bar’s indoor or outdoor terraces. In the morning, an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is offered for €13 and it is possible to get fresh rolls at the reception (by order).

Fancy a refreshing dip? The campsite itself does not have a swimming pool, but across the river is a large municipal swimming pool. You can walk there in about 10 minutes via the bridge. Among other things, you will find a large wave pool, a whirlpool, two indoor pools, water slides and a hammam. Here you can relax after a day in the car. For children’s entertainment, there is a playground and a table tennis table. There are also large lawns at the end of the campground where they can play and run around.

Stopover campsite near Chalon-sur-Saône

Camping du Pont de Bourgogne is located 7 kilometers from the A6 motorway, between Dijon and Lyon. It is an ideal stopover campsite for those passing through on their way to the south of France. Although the campsite is mainly aimed at passers-by, the area also lends itself well to a longer stay. For example, you can enjoy cycling and walking along the Saône, as good paths have been laid out along the river. Moreover, the beautiful old city center of Chalon-sur-Saône is about a 20-minute walk away. Here you will find many nice restaurants, terraces and bars. You will enjoy a cozy atmosphere, picturesque half-timbered houses and various attractions, such as a beautiful Catholic church and the Hôtel de Ville.
