Camping La Magaudie
Camping La Magaudie is located in the rolling hills of the Corrèze in southwest France. This small campsite, run by Dutch owners, offers complete tranquillity in a green setting. The buildings, including the reception, are built in traditional French style and date back to 1800. The campsite lies at around 300 metres altitude in the natural area of the Causse. In high season the campsite is aimed at families with children, while in spring and autumn La Magaudie becomes an adults-only destination — ideal for peace seekers and nature lovers.
Small campsite with ample shade
The campsite has 30 spacious pitches spread across gently sloping terrain with many trees and shrubs for natural shade. Each pitch offers a good balance of sun and shade with plenty of privacy. In 2010 and again in 2023, the campsite received prestigious ANWB awards: in 2010 as “most beautiful small campsite in Europe” and in 2023 as “best small campsite in Europe”.
Camping cabins and gîtes
Travellers without their own camping equipment can stay in one of the four wooden camping cabins or one of the two charming gîtes. The cabins sleep four people and include a kitchen, two bedrooms and a covered veranda. Guests use the shared sanitary facilities on the campsite. The gîtes are located in the old farmhouse and the former bakery building, and are lovingly decorated in rustic French style. They feature a private kitchen, bathroom and terrace. Both gîtes are suitable for two people.
Great facilities for a relaxed stay
Despite its small scale, La Magaudie offers a surprising number of facilities. There is a swimming pool for hot summer days and a playground, table tennis table, go-karts and trampoline for children. The pétanque court provides entertainment for all ages. The campsite restaurant serves local dishes including a weekly surprise menu, and has a large wooden terrace overlooking the grounds. You can also enjoy a craft-brewed La Magaudie beer or a good glass of wine. On cooler days there is a covered (and sometimes heated) terrace. Other facilities include a library, washing machines, free Wi-Fi and fresh bread each morning.
