Camping Le Lieu
Camping Le Lieu is a small campsite with swimming pool and fishing pond in the Dordogne. The campsite offers around 40 pitches on a 10.5-hectare plot in the Périgord Vert, and is run by a family. The pitches are spacious (read: about 100m² on average) and are separated by trees and bushes. Besides the camping pitches, there are a number of mobile homes and a wooden pod for rent. No licence is required for fishing in the fishpond. So everyone can give it a try! Furthermore, you can have fun in the swimming pool, the playground or on the sports field.
Fancy a snack or a drink or an evening when you don’t feel like cooking? The campsite has a bar and pizzeria located in a beautifully renovated 19th century barn. Here you can enjoy a nice cold beer, a good glass of wine and of course delicious home-made pizzas. In high season, barbecue and paella evenings are also organised where you can meet other campers. Furthermore, the campsite has free Wi-Fi and you can watch important sports events on a big screen.
Things to do in the area
There is plenty to do around Camping Le Lieu. Visit beautiful old villages, historic castles, breathtaking gorges and prehistoric caves… Or grab a canoe and paddle down the Dordogne, Vézère or Dronne! But you can also find entertainment and relaxation closer to home. You can sip a cold drink by the pool, buy a fishing rod and cast a line in our private fishing lake, or take a forest walk along the little river ‘Touroulet’. The campsite is 30 minutes from Brantôme, also called the ‘Venice of the Périgord’, and 45 km from the cities of Limoges and Périgueux. In the village – within walking distance of the campsite – you will find a small shop, a French restaurant and a bakery.
