Camping Lestaubière
Camping Lestaubière in Douville is a spacious campsite with a swimming pool, located in the Dordogne, Aquitaine region. At the campsite, young and old can relax and enjoy nature, tranquillity and the beautiful surroundings of the French Dordogne. The campsite offers very spacious pitches (160m²), modern mobile homes and 12 fully equipped safari lodge tents and modern sanitary facilities. Camping Lestaubière has a beautiful terrace overlooking the swimming pool with children’s pool, the playground and the lake with its beach. In high season, there is an extensive entertainment programme for children and adults, provided by our Lestaubière team, consisting of Dutch students. Entertainment by the Lestaubière team focuses on activities in high season. Every morning, games are played with the youngest children, there are crafts and a sporting activity. A weekly activity is the children’s and youth disco (dancing, games). For older children, there is a meeting place where they can get together in the evening without being disturbed. A campfire can also be made there (under supervision).
Camping in the Dordogne
Camping Lestaubière is located between the historic towns of Bergerac and Périgueux (capital of the Dordogne). Nearby there is a wine castle, caves, castles and the Dordogne river, and for your inner self, the well-known hypermarkets are a short distance away. The Périgord is part of the Dordogne department and is known for its castles, caves, old towns, wines, rivers and markets. The tourist centres of Le Bugue and Lalinde (30 minutes), Beynac and Sarlat are to the east, while the towns of Bergerac and Périgueux (with their hypermarkets and old town centres) are within 20 minutes’ reach. We recommend visiting the many caves, taking a boat or canoe trip on the Dordogne or Vézère rivers, or visiting the morning markets in Issigeac, Lalinde, Vergt, Le Bugue or Bergerac/Périgueux. The many restaurants, ranging from simple to haute cuisine, offer you every opportunity to enjoy local and other French specialities. For wine lovers, a tasting at one of the 80 wine chateaux is a must. There are several walking trails near the Lestaubière campsite and for the sporty cyclist there are challenging routes in the beautiful rolling countryside. A lake for swimming and canoeing, Lac de Neufont, is located a short distance away in Vergt.
