Camping Marenland
Camping Marenland is a peaceful campsite in Groningen, situated directly on the Winsumerdiep and within walking distance of the charming centre of Winsum. The campsite lies in the heart of the Groningen countryside, with the water always close by. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and the campsite is suitable for both a short stopover and a longer stay. Thanks to its location on the Winsumerdiep, you can easily combine peace and quiet by the water with activities such as canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. The centre of Winsum is also within walking distance.
Camping on the Winsumerdiep
At Camping Marenland, you’ll stay on spacious pitches for tents, caravans and trailer tents. For walkers and cyclists, there’s a separate pitch area, whilst motorhome owners can park on paved motorhome pitches. Those who prefer to rent accommodation have a choice of various options. These include a Scandinavian cottage, a Scandinavian chalet, a walkers’ hut, a bell tent, a Pieterpad Pod and options for retro camping. You can also stay overnight at the hotel.
Comfortable facilities and activities
The campsite has modern and sustainable sanitary facilities with separate areas for men and women, as well as facilities for guests with reduced mobility. The water is partly heated by the sun. Wi-Fi is available throughout the site. Children can play in the spacious playground, which includes a bouncy castle and swings. For food and drink, head to the De Jongens uit de Buurt restaurant or the chip shop for chips, snacks, ice cream and the Groningen ‘eierbal’. There are plenty of activities available on and around the site. These include canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, boat hire, archery and disc golf.
Discover Winsum and the Groningen countryside
Camping Marenland is a great base from which to explore Winsum and the surrounding area. From the campsite, you can walk straight to the centre of Winsum or set out onto the water for a trip along the Winsumerdiep. Walkers on the Pieterpad can also stay here and take advantage of a special package including dinner, breakfast and a packed lunch. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling and boating. Thanks to the combination of water, greenery and the nearby town centre, you can easily alternate between being active outdoors and relaxing by the water during your stay.
