Camping Quinta do Retiro
Camping Quinta do Retiro is a small, charming nature campsite located in the heart of Portugal, just outside the village of Covas. The camping pitches accommodate tents, caravans, and campers. You can also rent a furnished tent or holiday home. In the middle of the grounds, you’ll find a lovely ecological outdoor swimming pool where you can cool off on hot summer days. For children, there is a ping pong table and a fun play area with swings, slides, a sandbox, and a trampoline. A small river with some rocky areas and waterfalls crosses the property.

The campsite is situated near the Serra da Estrela mountain range, where you can enjoy valleys, forests, rivers, and lakes. It’s a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Visit the highest peak of the mountain range, called “Torre,” which stands at 1993 meters above sea level. Here, you’ll find an observation tower with a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains. Additionally, explore picturesque villages and towns in the surrounding area, such as Oliveira do Hospital (7 km), Arganil (29 km), and Piodão (35.5 km).
