Camping Schaartven
On the edge of the Overloonsche Duinen nature reserve lies Camping Schaartven: an oasis of peace in the North Brabant countryside. This charming campsite is located directly by the clear waters of the Schaartven, just a short walk from your pitch. Here, you will find no busy entertainment programmes or playgrounds, but peace, nature, and space. Whether you come with a tent, caravan, or motorhome, the view over the water and surrounding forest makes every day special. An ideal place for those seeking tranquillity.
Pitches directly by the water
Camping Schaartven offers spacious pitches, some located directly on the shore of the lake. You can choose whether you want a sunny spot or a pitch sheltered under the trees. The pitches are suitable for tents, caravans, and motorhomes. There is no electricity, allowing you to enjoy a true “Back to Basics” nature experience. Of course, you can use the campsite’s sanitary facilities. Please note: the campsite is open all year round, but the sanitary building is closed from November to March.
Would you like a bit more comfort? At Camping Schaartven you can also book a safari tent. The tent is equipped with a double bed, bunk bed, private bathroom, and kitchenette, and the terrace offers a view of the forest and the lake.
Peace, nature, and swimming in the Schaartven
The heart of the campsite is the large natural lake, known for its crystal-clear water. Here, you can swim, go paddleboarding, or simply relax by the water’s edge, without crowds or supervision. Around you, you will hear only the rustling of the trees and the singing of birds. From the campsite, you can walk straight into the adjacent nature reserve, where forests, sand dunes, and heathland alternate. Cyclists will also find it a perfect base, with numerous routes through the Overloonsche Duinen and the Maasheggen.
Discover Overloon and surroundings
In the immediate vicinity of Camping Schaartven, you will find plenty of nature and culture. Take a walk or cycle ride through the Overloonsche Duinen, visit the Overloon War Museum, or enjoy a fun day out at ZooParc. The villages of Overloon and Venray offer shops, terraces, and restaurants. After a day out, you return to the peace of the campsite, where the sun slowly sets behind the trees and the water of the Schaartven turns to gold.
