Camping Terre Rouge
If you love camping in the countryside, Camping Terre Rouge is the right place. Here you will camp on just one secluded pitch, without other people around you. That means you can enjoy nature undisturbed. The pitch is located on a ravine slope in the French Alps, in the tiny village of Terre Rouge, with only six houses. The pitch is a three-minute walk from the house L’Ane and offers the use of a toilet, shower and place to do the dishes. The pitch can accommodate one or two small to fairly large tents. There are a number of other pitches available in the village where you are all alone.
How to get to the pitch?
To get to the pitch, park your car (or motorbike) at the beginning of the village. You cannot get to the pitch by car or motorbike and there is no real path to it. Therefore, a wheelbarrow can be borrowed to bring stuff to the pitch.
Nature campsite in the French Alps
The nature campsite is in the village of Terre Rouge, located between the town of Briançon and the village of Cervières in the Hautes-Alpes. For children, there is only play by the river or in the forest. The area offers opportunities for hiking, rafting, paragliding, hang gliding and mountain biking. There are no amenities in the village itself. For groceries and other shops, drive to Briançon, 7 km away. There are also some restaurants in Briançon and other villages nearby, such as in Cervières, in the Les Fonts valley and at the top of the Col d’Izoard. In Cervières you will also find a shop that rents (electric) bikes.
