Camping Westenenk
Camping Westenenk is a green family campsite with 26 spacious pitches in Wijster, set in the wooded landscapes of Drenthe. Each pitch is generously laid out and separated by hedges so you maintain your own space. You always have the option of sun or shade. All pitches come with electricity and WiFi, and you make use of a brand‑new sanitary building opened in 2024. For those arriving with a tent there are grass spots and a few hard plateaus. Around the grounds roam friendly ponies, chickens, cats, goats and rabbits for cuddling. Children can enjoy playgrounds, trampolines, go‑karts, scooters and skipping balls. In the shared recreation room you will find a dartboard, shuffleboard, games, books and a large TV on which Formula 1 is shown. On the site there is a fire pit for cozy evenings outdoors. You can also buy eggs and ice cream. Additionally you may take part in activities such as fish smoking or motorbike tours in the region.

Right from the campsite paths lead into the forest, allowing you to walk or mountain bike for many hours. In the immediate surroundings you’ll find nature reserves such as the Mantingerveld and the Boerenveensche Plassen, with small ponds, heathland, open water and tranquil zones.
