Wild camping in Herentals
This campsite is located in Belgium in the province of Antwerp, in the heart of a wooded park area in Herentals and within walking distance of the town centre and the Kleine Nete. Here you can camp in a unique spot covering almost one hectare, where nature and the town are in close proximity. The site lies within the Herentals ring road yet feels completely green and peaceful. Here, you’ll mainly hear birds and the rustling of the trees, with the occasional squirrel or even a roe deer. This spot is ideal for those seeking nature, but who also like to pop into the town centre.
Camping in the Liesjesbos
The campsite is situated in a clearing in the woods and is suitable for tents, campervans and roof tents. Due to the narrow access lane, the site is particularly suitable for smaller vehicles. You’ll be camping on grass, with plenty of space around you and views of the woods and the surrounding countryside. The campsite has been deliberately kept simple. There is no drinking water or electricity available, which adds to the ‘back to basics’ character of this spot. You’ll be staying here in the heart of nature, choosing peace, simplicity and the great outdoors.
Basic facilities and outdoor living
There is a toilet on site, although this may be temporarily out of use during dry periods. There are picnic tables and seating areas where you can relax amidst the greenery. A campfire is permitted in a fire pit, weather permitting. Firewood is available for a small fee.
Discover Herentals and the Kleine Nete
The Kleine Nete is just 100 metres away and offers opportunities for canoeing or enjoying the water. Various walking and cycling routes through the surrounding nature reserves also start from the campsite. The centre of Herentals is about one kilometre away and is easily accessible on foot. Here you will find shops, restaurants and cafés, and a local farmers’ market on Sundays. Bobbejaanland is also nearby and can be reached via a walking route along the river without having to cross a road.
