La Borio de Roque – charming campsite in the Haut-Languedoc
La Borio de Roque is a small, green campsite in the Parc Naturel du Haut-Languedoc in southern France. Hidden among forests and mountains, this estate offers everything you need for a holiday full of peace, nature and adventure. The campsite has 25 spacious pitches spread over three terraces, each with sun and shade and the relaxing sound of the stream in the background. There are two sanitary buildings on the site and a lovely swimming pool surrounded by greenery. In “La Grange” you can get fresh bread, coffee, tea, ice cream and various beers and wines. Twice a week, wood-fired pizzas are baked here. You’ll also find Wi-Fi and information about the region.
Lodge tents with views and private bathroom
For guests seeking more comfort, there are lodge tents with private bathroom. These glamping accommodations offer the outdoor feeling combined with the convenience of home. They are located on the highest terrace and offer beautiful views over the green valley. The lodges have a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchenette, two bedrooms with proper beds, a sturdy dining table, lounge set and a lovely terrace. During the day you enjoy the sun and at night you can see the Milky Way. The terrace platforms are made of Douglas wood from the estate itself and carry the PEFC label, meaning the wood is harvested responsibly. A special experience for anyone who loves nature and comfort.
Charming gîtes around the courtyard
Around the courtyard are four charming gîtes, suitable for 2 to 6 people. Each gîte has its own character, with natural materials, wooden furniture and a rustic atmosphere. They all have a living kitchen with dishwasher, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a private terrace. Gîte du Berger (4p), Gîte du Bucheron (2/4p) and Gîte de la Fermière (4p) are ideal for smaller families, while Gîte de la Chevrière (6p) is perfect for larger families. The gîtes are also a lovely stay for couples. Take Gîte de la Fermière, for example: a spacious studio with mezzanine. All gîtes are fully furnished and offer plenty of privacy.
Outdoor life, sports and activities for all ages
La Borio de Roque is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. In high season, two certified outdoor instructors organise canyoning, climbing, caving and canoeing on the Orb. There is also plenty to do on the campsite itself: children’s canyoning, archery and hikes provide fun and adventure. The property is compact and child-friendly, with natural play areas and cool spots near the stream. All outdoor activities are small-scale and personal, with great attention to safety and experience.

The area around La Borio de Roque is rich in nature and history. You can start hiking directly from the campsite – from a 20-minute walk to day hikes of six hours – with viewpoints, flower meadows and even wildlife along the way. The Gorges d’Héric are a 25-minute drive away and ideal for a refreshing swim or climbing adventure. Cultural outings are also within reach: visit the medieval village of Minerve, the towns of Carcassonne, Béziers or Narbonne, or browse a brocante market in Olargues. For a day at the beach, the Mediterranean Sea is just an hour away. This region offers something new every day – active or wonderfully relaxed.
