This campsite is fully focused on peace seekers and nature lovers who want to slow down and unwind, surrounded by forests, meadows and old peat canals. Guests especially appreciate the silence, the space and the personal atmosphere. It is no coincidence that Drentsheerlijk is often mentioned as one of the most pleasant campsites to truly relax.

Green grounds with plenty of privacy

The grounds are rich in mature trees, fruit trees, ornamental shrubs and a private orchard. Varied planting creates natural separations between the pitches, offering plenty of privacy and the choice of sun or shade throughout the day. Rustic walking paths invite you to stroll around the site, past the vegetable garden and quiet green corners where you will naturally pause for a moment.

Camping or comfortable accommodation

You camp on spacious pitches in a green setting. If you do not have your own camping equipment, a cosy chalet is also available. Right next to the campsite lies an old peat canal where you can fish in complete tranquillity or simply enjoy the view and the gently flowing water.

Clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities

Cleanliness is a top priority. The sanitary building is cleaned several times a day and carefully maintained. Guests clearly respect this, which contributes to the pleasant and considerate atmosphere on the campsite.

Car-free, pet-free and wonderfully quiet

Camping Drentsheerlijk is deliberately car-free and pet-free. This ensures extra peace and quiet on the grounds and makes the stay especially enjoyable for guests who value silence and nature.

Tea garden on the campsite

Since last year, the campsite has its own cosy tea garden: Theetuin Geesbrug (https://theetuingeesbrug.nl/). A lovely spot for coffee, tea and homemade treats, right on the campsite. The tea garden fits perfectly with the calm character of the campsite and is a popular place to sit, chat or simply enjoy the surrounding greenery.

Ideal for cyclists and walkers

The campsite is located directly on several cycling and walking junction routes. From here, you can easily explore the Drenthe landscape with its heathlands, forests and quiet country roads. Larger nature areas such as Dwingelderveld are also easily accessible, optionally by e-bike or with a bike carrier.

Swimming, water and surroundings

A swimming pool and a peaceful recreational lake are located a short distance away, including Lake Schoonhoven, beautifully situated in the forest. You can also go canoeing on the canal alongside the campsite. In the surrounding area you will find museums, gardens and small-scale events. For personal tips, the owners are always happy to help.

Sustainable and nature-conscious

Respect for nature and the environment is central. Waste is separated, electricity is generated on site and the grounds are maintained in harmony with nature. The care of the animals is also carried out with attention and respect.
