Microcamping in Mechernich
This microcamping site is located just outside the village of Mechernich‑Wachendorf, in the heart of the northern Eifel. You camp on one of three spacious pitches, each with electricity and a beautiful panoramic view over the open countryside. The site features a simple sanitary building with warm showers and toilets. In the evening, you can gather around the fire or unwind completely in the sauna.
Camping in the Eifel
Not far from the campsite, you’ll find the impressive Kakushöhle, a cave where Neanderthals lived 80,000 years ago. A few kilometers from Mechernich is the large open-air museum in Kommern, featuring around 67 historic buildings from the Eifel and Rhineland. You can wander through authentic 19th-century farm villages and attend lively events. Additionally, there are countless routes for hikers, mountain bikers, or horseback riders. Birdwatchers will be in their element, and history lovers can explore castles and ruins in the region.
