Nature campsite in Helchteren
This private camping spot in the orchard is located on a nature‑rich site in Belgian Limburg, in a quiet green setting close to the forest and a small village. Here you camp among apple trees, raspberry bushes, plum trees and gooseberries that you are free to pick and enjoy during your stay. The spot is ideal for those who love a back‑to‑basic experience in nature, with space for your tent, caravan, camper, buscamper or roof tent. The garden is completely private for you or your group and you also have a parking space available that leads to the edge of the forest. Facilities are simple and practical, with an outdoor toilet and a large sink with cold water in the garden. For extra comfort, you can use a refrigerator in the house to keep food and drinks cool. Around the orchard there are several seating areas among the fruit trees and in the garage you will find cosy places to relax. For sports and games, you may use the equipment stored in the garage.
Camping in Belgian Limburg
From your camping spot you can walk straight into the forest for beautiful hikes through the green surroundings and the Zwarte Beek Valley. You are right in the heart of the Limburg cycling junction network, with routes to Kelchterhoef and Hengelhoef at around ten kilometres, Bokrijk at seventeen kilometres and the adventurous Cycling Through the Trees route at twenty kilometres. If you enjoy local flavours, the beers of Ter Dolen Castle are only ten minutes away by bike. The vast forests, heathlands and former mining hills are perfect for active days in nature. Cities such as Hasselt and Genk can be reached in about twenty minutes by car for pleasant outings. In addition to walking and cycling, you can swim at Hengelhoef or Molenheide and spot local wildlife such as roe deer or, with some luck, a wild boar. For climbing enthusiasts there is an indoor climbing hall at Be‑mine, and for a break with cake or a refreshing beer, La Reine Sucrée at the end of the street is highly recommended.
