Nature camping in Ter Apel
Nature camping on the border of Groningen and Drenthe with open views across the fields. You camp alone on the site and enjoy plenty of space. The area around Ter Apel in Westerwolde is a landscape of forests, fields and waterways. Right from the campsite you can walk through forest parcels and across field paths. In Ter Apel itself you’ll find the historic Klooster Ter Apel, which takes you back to the Middle Ages. You can also make a trip to Vesting Bourtange, an 18th‑century fortress town full of character and history. For wildlife and nature lovers there are walking routes through woods and open terrain, where you may observe birds, deer and other animals.
