Randsverk Camping: Nature, Peace & Adventure in the Heart of Norway

Randsverk Camping is nestled in the Norwegian mountains at 750 meters above sea level, where crisp mountain air, sweeping views, and silence embrace you instantly. This nature campsite is the perfect base for hiking, mountain biking, or simply soaking up the overwhelming beauty of Oppland’s landscapes. Set on a peaceful plateau between three national parks – Jotunheimen, Rondane, and Dovrefjell – you camp with views of rugged peaks, green valleys, and vast forests. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the site is well maintained, and owners Peter and Nina warmly welcome you from their impressive log cabin at the entrance.

Camping with Comfort and a View

Randsverk is set on gentle terraces with spacious grass pitches, some reinforced, all offering scenic views of the surrounding mountains. You’ll find modern, well-maintained sanitary facilities, large communal kitchens, and cozy dining areas – perfect for both tent campers and RV travelers. Those seeking more comfort can choose from simple to luxury cabins and apartments, sleeping 2 to 10 people. In summer, hikes and bike rides start right from your pitch; in winter, you can step straight onto your skis for a day in the snow.

Hiking, Mountain Biking, and Canoeing

Nature around Randsverk invites endless exploration. Hike to Besseggen, one of Norway’s most famous trails. Conquer Glittertind or challenge yourself on Galdhøpiggen – the country’s highest peak. Prefer water? Go canoeing on Lake Lemonsjøen or mountain biking through the valleys – mountain bikes are available for rent at the campsite. GPS routes, maps, and local tips are available at the shop. Kids will love the playground, trampoline, and small climbing course on site.

Everything You Need On Site

The on-site Coop supermarket is well stocked with local Norwegian products, outdoor gear, souvenirs, and fresh-baked bread. Craving a treat? Head to the Randsverk Cafeteria for a moose burger, lasagna, pizza, or a quality coffee – from cappuccino to macchiato. Wifi is available around the shop and café – handy for planning your next route or sharing your amazing views with folks back home.

Discover Norway’s National Parks & Culture

In addition to Jotunheimen, Rondane and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella are nearby. Hike through alpine tundras where you might spot a musk ox. Cultural gems await too: visit the wooden church of Vågå, the birthplace of Knut Hamsun, or the spectacular Lom stave church. After a day of impressions, nothing beats returning to your peaceful spot at Randsverk Camping – as the sun sets behind the mountains and serenity settles in.
