Velfjord Camping & Hytter
Velfjord Camping & Hytter is a small campsite with Dutch owners, nestled between fjords, forests, and mountains in the Helgeland region. Marcel and Nicole traded their lives in the Netherlands in 2010 for a new start in the Norwegian wilderness. And with success – their nature campsite has become a favorite among adventurous travelers seeking the real Norway. Whether you bring your camper, tent, or caravan, or prefer a comfortable holiday cottage – here, you’ll sleep in harmony with nature.
Camping by the water, surrounded by Norwegian nature
With just 10 camper and caravan spots (with electricity) and a small field for around five tents, this is a true gem for those seeking peace and quiet. On the tent field, you’ll find a firepit and ready-to-use canoes. The service building offers a shower, (bio) toilet, kitchen, and washing/drying machine. Located on Lake Langvatn and the Fuggelielv River, it’s the perfect spot for paddlers, anglers, and water lovers. Swim, boat, fish – it’s all possible here. Looking for something special? Book a guided moose or beaver safari, or join a night walk to chase the Northern Lights.
From tiny cabin to spacious lakefront holiday home
Prefer a solid roof over your head? The four cabins on site are rustic and fully equipped. Choose a compact hut for two, a cozy cabin with its own kitchen, or a spacious holiday home for up to 10 guests – ideal for families or friends. The houses are scattered in the greenery and offer plenty of privacy. Some even have a wood stove, veranda, or lake view. Added bonus: bed linen and final cleaning are available as optional extras.
Honest food from the land
A unique feature of Velfjord Camping is the small farm shop by the reception, stocked with seasonal vegetables, berries, potatoes, and occasionally moose meat from the region. Everything comes straight from their own land – sustainable, fresh, and delicious. Cook up a stew in the outdoor kitchen or bake fresh rolls in the shared kitchenette. All in Norwegian style, with a touch of Dutch hospitality.
Adventure with a guide or on your own
The surrounding area is a paradise for hikers, anglers, and nature lovers. Venture into the rugged Lomsdal-Visten National Park or explore the lakes and rivers by canoe. Marcel and Nicole know the area like no one else and are happy to give tips or guide you themselves. Spot moose from the water, hike to a viewpoint over the Gravfjords, or simply wander through the forest – every day is a new adventure here.
