Waldcamping Birkendorf
Waldcamping Birkendorf is a peaceful nature campsite in the southern Black Forest. The site is tucked away in the picturesque Schlüchttal Valley, surrounded by forests and flowing streams. You camp on spacious, sunny pitches either on an open field or under the trees, far from crowds and traffic. All pitches come with an electrical hookup and are suitable for tents, caravans, and campers. For a unique experience, you can stay in a stylishly renovated vintage caravan. The sanitation facilities are clean and well-maintained, and a washing machine is available for guest use.
Camping in green surroundings
Children love the large playground just beside the terrace or the cozy indoor play corner. By the stream there is a refurbished grill area with seating, perfect for outdoor wood-fire barbecuing. On warm days, you can relax at the nearby Naturena bathing lake, just a short walk from the campsite. Here you can swim, sunbathe, or play beach volleyball with views of the surrounding hills. In the Waldschenke restaurant, fresh regional dishes are served—including Black Forest game specialties. A small shop is also on-site for everyday essentials.

Right from the campsite, you’ll find walking trails through the scenic Schlüchttal—featuring forest paths, rock formations, and babbling brooks. The rolling terrain of the Black Forest is also ideal for cycling tours. Birkendorf itself is a charming village with timber-framed houses and traditional hospitality. Nearby, several picturesque villages such as Ühlingen (6 km) and Häusern (17 km) offer local markets, churches, and small museums for a taste of regional life.
