Camping Boven het Maaiveld offers wonderful, adventurous and natural camping! Discover beautiful West Friesland, located between salt and fresh water. Create new stories and take time to relax and unwind. Large pitches, lots of privacy and new sanitary facilities. Children can play and splash around for hours on the play beach, while parents enjoy the orangery and the lovely terrace. Even in bad weather, the orangery is a great place to be, with its indoor sandpit and cosy corners where you can read a book in peace. Everything is close by and nothing is far away from the campsite. Wind your way through the vast farmlands from the North Sea beach to the VOC towns and back. Join us for pizza night and enjoy a singer-songwriter by the campfire or in the orangery.

Camping pitches with electricity

Camping Boven ‘t Maaiveld has 54 pitches, all equipped with a 6 or 8 amp electricity connection. The sanitary building is centrally located and therefore always close by. The greenhouse is open daily and is a wonderful place to be. During the high season and on some weekends, delicious treats are also available.

Space for playing, socialising and getting together

At the back of the campsite, you will find a panoramic view of the meadows. Where the rising sun creates magical skies in the morning and the evening skies amaze, we have created a place where you can relax. There is more than enough space for playing, socialising and getting together. We look forward to seeing you in the greenhouse, at the play pond or at the campfire site!

The best games happen in places that aren’t meant for them. That’s why we don’t have a big playground. All over the grounds, you’ll find nooks and crannies to play in and spend hours having fun. Climb, scramble, explore and get messy. Dare to get lost! Children can also ride go-karts, sail on the raft, play table tennis or play in the playhouse in the greenhouse.

West Friesland keeps its feet dry thanks to the protection of the Westfriese Omringdijk, which at 126 kilometres is the longest dyke in the world! Within it, you will find a varied Dutch landscape with charming villages, beautiful cycle paths and a rich history. Boven het Maaiveld is centrally located in West Friesland, close to both the Dutch coast and the VOC cities of Hoorn and Medemblik. The campsite is also close to the De Vooroever recreation area. Here you can relax on the sandy beach on the IJsselmeer on a hot summer’s day.

For families, there are plenty of playgrounds, attractions and animal parks full of exotic birds and other animals, interesting museums and surprising places. Within walking and cycling distance of the campsite, you will find two supermarkets, a delicious bakery, a traditional butcher and various restaurants.

Of course, you will find brochures and ideas for fun outings, cycling and walking tours at the campsite. But we would rather tell you about the best market, the best adventure paradise or the most surprising idea. There are also many options for groups.
