Camping Les Sapins in Camurac is a small campsite located on the Plateau de Sault in the department of Aude. The small-scale campsite with Dutch owners has 72 pitches, but also various furnished log cabins, chalets, rental tents and mobile homes. If you want to make it really easy, you can also rent accommodation with half board (breakfast and dinner). Camping Les Sapins has an attractive restaurant with a small menu and a cosy garden with seating. The fenced swimming pool is open from mid-June to mid-September. There is a paddling pool next to the swimming pool. In July and August, there are various activities for children. In terms of sports, various (paid) activities are also organised from the campsite, such as mountain biking, horse riding and archery. Information is available at the campsite for walking and cycling routes and activities in the area. Fresh bread is available every day and there is a small grocery service.

Surroundings French Pyrenees

In the south of the valley, the high peaks of the Pyrenees can be seen between the hills. The nature around the campsite is spectacular and unspoilt. The air here is pure, partly due to the many ‘sapins’ (pine trees). Vast highlands with caves and ravines and jagged limestone formations dominate the area. Such as the spectacular Gorges de la Frau, which leads to the Château de Montségur, the last bastion of the mysterious Cathars, whose history dominates the culture in this area. A stone’s throw from Camping Les Sapins is the village of Montailliou, which also has a Cathar past. Both are located on or near the GR107, a well-known (Cathar) walking route.
