Camping Onlycamp Le Petit Bocage in Essarts-en-Bocage is a tranquil, small-scale campsite in the northwest of Vendée. The campsite offers spacious camping pitches in the sun or shade. Don’t have your own camping equipment? No worries, as there are also furnished tents and mobile homes available for rent. The campsite is located next to a municipal swimming pool, to which you have direct and free access from the campsite. For the little ones, there is a playground, and those who enjoy sports can play a game on the volleyball court. If you don’t feel like cooking one day, you can grab a meal from the food truck (July/August). The campsite also has a small grocery store where local products and hot and cold beverages are sold. In the summer, you can also get ice cream there.
Camping in Vendée
The campsite is located in the town of Les Essarts, known primarily for its castle: Le Château des Essarts. During your stay at the campsite, you should definitely take a stroll to this castle. You can reach the ruins in just a 15-minute walk. Another enjoyable outing near the campsite is the famous Puy de Fou park, where you can watch impressive shows about Vikings, gladiators, and knights. The most renowned performance is the Cinescénie, featuring thousands of actors and hundreds of horses. Just 4 kilometers from the campsite is the lake Etang de la Rabretière, where you can go for a pleasant walk, have a picnic, and go fishing. Lastly, about a 20-minute drive away, you’ll find the charming town of La-Roche-sur-Yon, founded by Napoleon.
