Camping Vue du Lac

The peaceful Vue du Lac nature campsite in Burgundy is idyllically located on a natural lake with beautiful views, surrounded by forests and meadows, between the towns of Nevers and Dijon in the Nièvre department. It is approximately 300 km south of Paris, just south of the Morvan Regional Natural Park with its rich history and, among other things, Mont Beuvray, where the excavations of Bibracte, an ancient Celtic city, are located. At Camping Vue du Lac, you can experience true tranquillity in an oasis of peace, where you can choose between sheltered spots or pitches near the trees. Semi-sheltered but also lovely sunny pitches are available, almost all with a unique view of the lake. You can camp here at an attractive price, including hot water, free showers and free Wi-Fi. The Dutch owners welcome you to this beautiful (car-free) campsite in France.

Small campsite in a wooded area

If you like small or medium-sized campsites, then our Vue du Lac campsite is the place for you. The small campsite is surrounded by woods and has views of rolling meadows. Here you have plenty of space to enjoy the green landscape. The lake on which the campsite is located is called l’Étang Donjon, which means pond, but we thought the name Camping Vue du Lac was more appropriate, as it means view of the lake. The lake covers an area of 28 hectares, so it can safely be called a lake. The lake is used by the owners as a breeding pond for all kinds of freshwater fish. Thanks to the lake, the River Loire, which is only a few kilometres away, and the 32 smaller lakes around the municipality of Montambert, which is nearby, there is a microclimate here. The weather here is often sunny until late in the year and even a few degrees higher than in the rest of the region.

Discover the nature of Burgundy

Burgundy is beautiful in every season. The unspoilt landscape is an ideal setting for all kinds of outdoor activities, on foot, by bike, by canoe, surfboard or on horseback, and you can enjoy swimming in the lakes. Burgundy has an exceptional network of cycle paths, known as the Tour de Bourgogne à vélo, with many day-long walking and cycling routes. In addition, this region has more than 1,000 km of navigable waterways, making Burgundy a true paradise for river tourism. On the Vue du Lac website, you will find a selection of activities you can do and places you can visit.
