The countryside is full of mixed woodland, extensive ponds and karst geology which is unique in Europe. Fascinating natural experiences can be had in the Harz national park, in the limestone caves, on the reservoirs, on hiking routes or when climbing the Brocken, the highest mountain in northern Germany. Long-distance walking paths pass through Walkenried or start here, such as the Harzer Baudenstieg, Kaiserweg and Karst hiking paths as well as the Harzer Grenzweg path with its rare fauna and flora.This campsite is ideal for families. Two playgrounds, a sports ground, mini-golf, beach volleyball and table tennis provide entertainment alongside the holiday program _Hits for Kids_ and after the _swimming fun_ in the indoor pool keep the little ones happy with the bathing island, floating tyres and boats. The indoor swimming pool is a particular highlight of the campsite. On cold winter, or even summer, days you can do something for your health. Water aerobics, a massage or a visit to the sauna round off the spa offer.
