Drouwenerzand Holiday Park

Drouwenerzand Holiday Park is a family-friendly holiday park in Drenthe, located directly next to the Drouwenerzand Amusement Park. The park primarily consists of rental accommodations, but there is also a small camping area where you can pitch your own tent, caravan, or camper. All camping pitches come with 16-ampere electricity and have a heated private sanitary unit with a shower, toilet, and sink. In addition, there are also bungalows, lodges, safari tents, and a treehouse available for rent. For children, there is a fun playground and a large playfield where they can play soccer, volleyball, or basketball. Moreover, as a guest of the holiday park, you have daily free access to the amusement park. Here, you can find more than 20 attractions such as bumper cars, a swinging ship, and a mini roller coaster. The tickets also include food and drinks.

Visit the Hunebed Centre

The holiday park is only a few minutes’ walk from various hunebedden (prehistoric burial chambers). If you want to learn more about these unique tombs, you should definitely visit the Hunebed Centre in Borger (4 km away). The center has several hunebedden on the premises that you can examine up close. Additionally, there are a series of interactive exhibitions that take you through the history and archaeology of the hunebedden. These exhibits provide insights into the people who built them and their cultural significance. Next to the center, there is an archaeological park with reconstructed prehistoric houses and other structures that give visitors an idea of how people lived during that time.
