Le Jardin des Druides

Le Jardin des Druides is a small estate in Normandy with two gîtes (holiday cottages) and a mini campsite in our food forest with an ecological swimming pond. The campsite has six pitches, for tents only. In the food forest (permaculture), you can pick your own fruit and vegetables (subject to availability, of course). Le Jardin des Druides prides itself on being a small, peaceful, quiet campsite where our guests can relax, unwind, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the sights and sounds of nature in the adjacent farmlands and the forest of Ecouves.

Peace, space and nature in Normandy!

The mini campsite slopes gently to the north-west and offers panoramic views over the fields and forest of Ecouves. Deer are often seen in the early morning and at dusk. You may also have the privilege of observing wild boars in the forest, badgers, foxes and many small creatures going about their lives. There is a cosy gathering place with a campfire. Please note that we are a dog-free campsite!

Beautiful nature and charming villages

Near Le Jardin des Druides, you will find the vast and beautiful Foret d’Ecouves (5 minutes’ drive), an area full of wildlife, hiking trails (including 2 ‘Grande Randonnées’ (long-distance hiking trails)), cycle paths and natural attractions. About a 30-minute drive away is the mystical Foret des Andaines. This is a forest full of legends (including legends of Arthur and Merlin). There are many beautiful villages in the area, such as the artists’ village of Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei (voted one of the most beautiful villages in France). There is also a wonderful lake in La Férte-Macé where you can swim. The beautiful spa town of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne is also worth a visit. For those who love cities, Alençon is an absolute must!
